06 March 2013 "Restoration with Interest!" by Evangelist Mboneni Rathiyaya Wednesday Service.
Senior Evangelist Mboneni Rathiyaya preaching whilst Ms Ndivhuho Thavhana is interpreting.
Scripture reading: 2 Kings8:1-6 “1 Then Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, "Arise and go, you and your household, and stay wherever you can; for the Lord has called for a famine, and furthermore, it will come upon the land for seven years." 2 So the woman arose and did according to the saying of the man of God, and she went with her household and dwelt in the land of the Philistines seven years. 3 It came to pass, at the end of seven years, that the woman returned from the land of the Philistines; and she went to make an appeal to the king for her house and for her land. 4 Then the king talked with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, "Tell me, please, all the great things Elisha has done." 5 Now it happened, as he was telling the king how he had restored the dead to life, that there was the woman whose son he had restored to life, appealing to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, "My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life." 6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed a certain officer for her, saying, "Restore all that was hers, and all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the land until now." NKJV.
I want to speak tonight with people whose many things have been stolen from them. Many things have been stolen from the lives of many people; some of the people your marriage has been stolen, others your knowledge has been stolen, other people are living without their jobs because they have been stolen from you. I want to talk to youth tonight whose many things have been stolen from them.
The question that I want to ask you is: “what is it that has been stolen from you? When was it stolen? Who stole it?” You need to ask yourself who stole that thing away from your life and when was it stolen.
Our theme for this year is “17 Do not be overly wicked, Nor be foolish: Why should you die before your time?” Eccl 7:17, NKJV.
The bible says in Psalm 90:10 that God has prepared the years for us to live but if you die before that time or if your husband or spouse has died before that time it means that they are stolen. “10 The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” Ps 90:10, NKJV.
Parents are being robbed of their possessions and their lives, children are being robbed and their things are being stolen away from them. Many people have been given gifts by God but they are unable to excel in those gifts because their gifts have been stolen.
It does not matter what has been stolen from you but if you have faith in God, are faithful in your life to God and pray, all that has been stolen will be returned with interest. God says His thoughts are not to hurt us but for us to have a better future and good things so if we trust in God everything that has been stolen from us will be restored with interest.
There was a woman who lived with her husband and they were so rich. Every time she would see Prophet Elijah passing by their home evangelizing the word of God and she was touched and she approached her husband and asked if they could invite Elijah over for supper in their house. The husband agreed and with time they built him a house so that each time he visited that village he would have a place to stay. The bible says that in return Elijah asked God to bless the woman with a son because she was barren and because Elijah trusted in the Lord it happened as he had spoken.
The woman trusted in the Lord and all that Elijah spoke into her life came to pass. The bible says when they were heading towards a famine in that land Elijah visited the woman again and advised her to leave the land for seven years with her family to save their lives.
The bible says after seven years when this woman returned to her village she found that her house and all her possessions had been taken over; she had been robbed so she decided to approach the king to explain her situation.
The bible says when she arrived at the king’s palace, she found the king busy enquiring from Gehazi, Elijah’s servant about all the miracles that Elijah had performed. When Gehazi saw the woman he told the king that I won't explain, here is the live testimony! The king then asked the woman who explained what had happened.
After hearing her testimony the king asked his servants to restore everything that had been taken from her; and it had to be restored with interest.
Everything that has been stolen from you must be restored with interest; what has been stolen from you must be restored, by the grace of God, with interest. Maybe your job has been stolen, maybe happiness and peace has been stolen in your family; it is time for those things to be restored with interest. It needs a person, it need a parent who will cry and say that “I want restoration for my children!
You might be feeling like things are well whereas they are not, keep on praying until God says something about your situation. The plans of God are not to harm you; or for you to lack but they are plans of giving you good things, prosperity, good health and a great future. Why are you sick? Why are you in poverty? That sickness and poverty are not from God.
Your situation will only be restored if you talk to God, stop talking and discussing your problems with the world; talking with people won’t help you; what can help you is being faithful unto God, praying unto God and He will restore you.
Youth what is it that has been stolen from you? How many times have you been repeating the same class? That is what has been stolen from you and it must be restored with interest and that has to start tonight.
You know what has been stolen from you, you know what is happening in your life and that thing has to be restored with interest tonight.
Exodus 23:20-30 “20 "Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.21 Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. 22 But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to youradversaries. 23 For My Angel will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off. 24 You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars. 25 "So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. 26 No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. 27 "I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. 28 And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you. 29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.” NKJV.
God is saying he will send his angel and he will lead you and restore everything that has been stolen from you with interest.
Pastor Mukhavhuli taught us about the four men with leprosy; when they entered the enemy’s camp they found it empty not because it had no residents but because God had made the whole army to hear a noisy frightful sound and they ran away and left everything behind because they were scared.
God says when you are delivered your enemies won't be driven away from you all at once but slowly and surely. As God is in the process you need to be patient and thank God in everything you are going through and He will make a way where there is no way. Some of us our future has been stolen, some their children has been stolen. Some their things are even being stolen even when they are in the church but God says if you are humble and obedient, God will restore everything with interest.
It does not matter what the devil has stolen form you but God says it must be restored with interest. I don’t know what has been stolen from you, I don’t know what the devil has stolen from your life but God is ready and willing to restore everything with interest starting from tonight only if you are being faithful unto God. Some of us are coming to church daily but we are not being faithful to him. So it is our responsibility to make a self-introspection into our lives and check, where are we not being faithful and deal with it so that God can restore us.
Prayer Points by Pastor Naledzani Nethengwe
Ps Naledzani Nethengwe leading prayer points.
1. Confession prayer
Rom 3:23 “23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” NKJV.
There are many things that have been stolen from us because we sinned, so let us ask God and forgive us our sins so He can help us to recover our things.
2. For Purity:
A Christian must be pure. We must avoid adultery, gossip, lies, killings.
Ex 20:14 “14 "You shall not commit adultery.” NKJV.
1 Peter 3:1-2 “Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.” NKJV.
Further reading:- Proverbs 5:15, Ephesians 5:18.
3. Against afflictions and persecutions in church
When people want to attack Christians they get them in the church.
Acts 13:4-7 “4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 5 And when they arrived in Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. They also had John as their assistant. 6 Now when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, 7 who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.” NKJV.
4. Against the spirit by some men refusing women to be in leadership.
1 Tim 2:12-13 “12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.” NKJV.
Further reading 1 Corinthians 11:3 and Joel 2:28-29.
5. For the grace to wait upon God for direction and guidance.
Some people are too quick to act or speak, they don’t even wait for God’s response or direction.
Prov 18:13 “13 He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to him.” NKJV.
6. God fearing family-living by faith In God
Prov 2:5 “5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.” NKJV.
7. Wisdom and skill in shepherding and leadership responsibility
1 Peter 5:1-5 “The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. Submit to God, Resist the Devil 5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."” NKJV.
8. Salvation to our children
Phil 1:4-6 “4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” NKJV.
9. Unity and co-operation
10. Let’s ask God for the word that will save people to be in us
Just like Nehemia saved the people.
Neh 7:5 “5 Then my God put it into my heart to gather the nobles, the rulers, and the people, that they might be registered by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of those who had come up in the first return, and found written in it:” NKJV.
11. For the development and prosperity of heads of bible schools
Many people do not believe that even black people can make it in this field.
12. For strengthening of our marriages, which have been ordained by God
Gen 1:26-28 “26 Then God said,"Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them,"Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."” NKJV.

Marriage — Christ and the Church (cf. Col 3:18,19) 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,” Eph 5:20-25, NKJV.
14. Parents to respect children and vice versa
Ephesians 6:1-6 “6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: 3 "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." 4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Bondservants and Masters 5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,” Eph 6:1-6, NKJV.
