\If you decide to be a Christian it means you are now an enemy of satan. We are going to learn about the solutions of handling Christian`s life’s challenges. As children of God we are supposed to be enjoying the life that we are living. As a child of God you are not supposed to be poor or facing troubles or challenges that do not have solutions. There are certain Christians who are too rebellious, they come to church and decide to seat and not participate in any way in church.
The other challenge is Christians who hate one another, even fellow Christians. It is happening even in the same church where instead of people praying for one another or for the ministry to grow, people are busy gossiping inside the church and destroying each other spiritually.
Challenges in Christian`s life:
Sexual immorality, Jealousy, Witchcraft, Selfishness, Idolatry.
Who causes these challenges?
Satan is the one who causes all these challenges.
The bible says that satan was created by God and he was one of the angels of God. Sometime after his creation and before the creation of mankind satan rebelled against God. A certain number of God`s angels followed him, viz, one third of the angels. Those angels are what today we know as demons. Satan was created as a perfect being. It is now not certain when satan rebelled against God.
You can read: Job 38:4-8.
Satan took a form of a snake in the Garden of Eden to test eve, this means that satan has many forms that he appears as. In the Garden of Eden he changed into a snake. This means that when he challenges Christians, he changes forms and comes in different forms. Satan is not stupid.
We have to know our enemy; I think now we all know who is our enemy.
Scripture reading: Nehemiah 6:1-3 NKJV
“1 Now it happened when Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall, and that there were no breaks left in it(though at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates), 2 that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, "Come, let us meet together among the villages in the plain of Ono." But they thought to do me harm. 3 So I sent messengers to them, saying, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?"”
There is this man called Nehemiah, we may ask ourselves a question. “Who was Nehemiah?” Nehemiah was a man who served wine to the King in a foreign land. Nehemiah was so close to the king that he used to share everything with the King.
There are people that are suffering, God wants people who can stand up and ask God to give them power and authority so that they can be able to deliver those people who are in bondage.
Nehemiah asked for a letter from the King so that he could be given permission to rebuild Jerusalem. Once you ask authority from God, He will not only give you authority but He will also give you, material things. God is looking for men and women, people who can stand up and support the vision of the pastor.
In this area the kingdom of darkness is aware that there is a church that is being built and satan is not happy about that and he doesn’t want to be defeated. He will always try everything to stop that and to make you forsake the kingdom of God to obey him. When we want to defeat the devil we have to always pray and always serve God in any way that we can.
When we are living a Christian life, Satan will always come to attack.
Three things to help us defeat Satan:
Nehemiah was able to use these things and he was able to prevail.
1. The source
How many of us when our bosses are not giving me our deserved promotion get angry? How many of us when at school we write exams and do not pass, are content? Most of us end up blaming each other. Nehemiah knew where the source was from and he was able to stand. He knew the source was the devil and he remained standing.
2. The motive
Nehemiah knew that the motive was to derail him. The motive of the devil in your life is to derail you from the way that you are living. Nehemiah carried on after he had realised their motive.
3. He did not allow those things to derail him.
How many of us here that when we arrive home we find that there is no food go to the inyangas or prophets? Here the bible encourages us that we must not allow ourselves to be derailed by the motives of the devil in our lives.
There are some people who think that God must answer their prayers immediately to please them but God take a lot of time because He knows that He has a purpose for your life and whatever that you are looking for He want to give you at the right time. He want that when he blesses you people will know that he is God who is able.
Different between Satan and Jesus
Jesus’ purpose in your life is to lead people to salvation; the purpose of Satan in your life is to lead you to rebellion.
Followers of Jesus enjoy the following: Love, kindness, peace, patience, self-control. If you do not enjoy these keep on praying.
Followers of Satan enjoy the following: Idolatry, witchcraft, selfish ambitions, drunkenness, sexual immorality.
There are two things that we need to know. Do you belong to Jesus or are you trapped by satan? This satan that we are talking about he is not a fool, since from the beginning he was the angel of God and he was so close to the Lord. He was privy to a lot of information about how things work in heaven.
He was chased from heaven with one third of the angels from heaven and these are what we know today as demons.
Conclusion
The solution of handling the challenges of Christian`s life.
2 Tim 4:7 NKJV "7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Why are you coming to church? I know that you are in a race, but don’t you like to be like Paul? I don’t think you are coming to church so that people can see you. I know that the main purpose is to prepare your way to heaven. When you are facing trials do not allow them to stop you praising God and coming to church. Tell your problems that they cannot stop you from praising God and that will be the solution to your troubles.
