Day 05 “The yoke that hinders your calling in heaven” by Rev Samuel Mametsa, Thursday Service, the 5th
April 2013.
The theme of this crusade is “The annointing that breaks the yoke”. We have spoken about a number of yokes. Tonight we are going to talk about the yoke that hinders your calling in heaven. That yoke must be broken.
The bible says every yoke is put you by somebody else; you don’t put it upon yourself. Every yoke is oppression; you can’t carry it by yourself. It will destroy you. The yoke that you carry is put upon you by somebody. That is why I said a lot of
people are carrying yokes unaware. The bible says every yoke must be removed and you can’t remove it by yourself. You need the Holy Spirit to help you, to release you from the yoke.
I gave an example of the yoke of a farm cow carrying a yoke. That is why that cow is directed by yoke; it doesn’t go where it wants to go but where the owner of the yoke wants it to go. Imagine you are carrying the yoke of the devil. It means the yoke will direct you to the paths of the devil.
The anointing that must set the cows and the animals free. If the yoke of poverty is upon you, it is not of God. It is a punishment from the devil. Poverty is not of God. The bible says if you are carrying a yoke, it means everything in your family will follow you, even if you are under yoke, they will follow because you have linked them with the yoke. That is why they will study and copy what you are doing. It is important to break every yoke in your life.
The bible says if you are under yoke even the animals in your yard will be affected and will carry the very same yoke. That is why, before we were using cows to plough our fields. But the servant of God Jesus Christ came and He lifted the yoke and the people and the cows are set free. They are set free. But they cannot be set free if you, the owner, are still in bondage.
1 Kings 19:19 “19 So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him.” NKJV.
1 Kings 19:21 “21 So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen's equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.” NKJV.
Num 22:21-33 “1 So Balaam rose in the morning, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab. Balaam, the Donkey, and the Angel 22 Then God's anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him. 23 Now the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. So Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back onto the road. 24 Then the Angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side. 25 And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she pushed herself against the wall and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall; so he struck her again. 26 Then the Angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn either to
the right hand or to the left. 27 And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam's anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff. 28 Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" 29 And Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!" 30 So the donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?" And he said, "No." 31 Then the Lord opened Balaam's eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell flat on his face. 32 And the Angel of the Lord said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me. 33 The donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, surely I would also have killed you by now, and let her live."” NKJV.
Gal 2:21 “21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."” NKJV.
Breaking the yoke that hinders your calling. There is a yoke that will prevent you from listening to God. The yoke makes you run against your grace. It hinders you from fulfilling the call of God upon your life.
The bible says God spoke to Prophet Elijah to go to the area where Elisha was, this is because Elisha was not hearing God. Elisha did not know that God wanted to speak to him or that God was speaking to him and he was not hearing God. That is why he was too busy with cows, farming. He was under a yoke that kept him from hearing or obeying God. He put the yoke on the cows as well. If you are yoked you will cause other people to be yoked. He was not aware that God had appointed him for another job. His job was not to plough the fields with cows, putting them under yoke.
Then God spoke to Prophet Elijah, “Go to that area”. He did not speak to Elisha, he just put threw his mantle upon him, that mantle was annointed and it influenced Elisha to follow Elijah.
All along he had heard about Elijah but did not follow after him but after the mantle was thrown on him, he started to follow after Prophet Elijah. He started to be moved, to hear with the proper ears, to see with the proper eyes and to have compassion. If the yoke is upon you, you will walk like an old and tired man. You will put on a coat when it is very hot. That is when the yoke is upon you. You can’t feel the seasons when the yoke is upon you. The bible says in 1 Kings 19:19 “Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him.” NKJV.
After the mantle was thrown on Elisha. He started to walk properly, to hear properly and to have compassion on the animals and realise that “I am punishing these animals”. The bible says he ran to Elijah “Man of God I want to work
with you but I want to say good bye to my family, as they will not see me again! Wherever you take me I will go!”
Elisha ran back home to off-load the yoke upon the cows, he slaughtered a yoke of oxen (two of them), cooked the flesh and gave to the people to eat. For fire he used the wood of the yoke. “…and boiled their flesh, using the oxen's equipment, using the oxen's equipment,…” 1 Kings 19:21, NKJV. The question that I have is this: is: why didn’t he fetch new wood? He was repenting saying “These yoke, these wood, will not be used again to be a yoke upon other
people.” He repented and called the people in the area to witness and gave them meat to eat. “I don’t know where I am going but what I know is that where I am going I know I am going to serve the Lord.”
If you are yoked don’t expect God to touch you. I like the singer who says “Something wonderful touched me”. If you are yoked, you cannot hear God speak. You can’t hear the spirit whispering to you. You will dream satanic dreams, you will see satanic visions. But once the yoke is removed, you will see and hear from God.
Paul in Gal 2:21 says don’t frustrate the grace. There are many people who are frustrating the grace of God upon their lives; this is because the people run ahead of the grace. This way you frustrate the grace. When the grace is about to
come upon you, you run ahead of the grace and leave your grace behind you.
Your grace is not somebody’s grace. The reason why people run ahead of their grace is that they copy other people’s grace. Let me tell you this, when God calls you He will give you direction.
The bible says the yoke can frustrate you; it can make you not to know what to do in the things of God. In Numbers when the yoke was upon Balaam, he could not hear and understand God when God spoke to him. There was a yoke upon him. You cannot hold God to ransom. If God wants to operate even if you are too proud, He will operate.
Balaam was proud and thought that God speaks to him alone but instead God spoke to the donkey. God says I came to this man spiritually, he can’t see me. I came to this man physically he still can’t see me. But the donkey saw God and turned, then Balaam hit the donkey. The donkey saw the angel but Balaam did not. The donkey realised that this man Balaam was not seeing the angel and decided “Let me crush him a bit, maybe that way he will listen, he will see.” The
man became furious; the donkey thought the man would see what it was seeing.
You may see with your physical eyes and still be blind. The donkey knew that if I crush him a bit, his senses will come back. Balaam became furious and hit the donkey, until it decided, out of respect for God, to kneel down. This made
Balaam more furious and then he hit that donkey more. The donkey then turned around and said “Why are you beating me. What wrong have I done? How long have you been using me, have I done what I have done before?”
Imagine yourself in this situation. What would you do? The donkey turns around and questions you. The God we are serving cannot be held to ransom. He said “If people won't to worship me I will tell these stones to worship me!” The
God we are talking about opened the mouth of the donkey. You think you are the only one who can hear God. God can shut up your mouth and use the donkey to do his work. Don’t show off against the living God. Don’t be a proud peacock
against the kingdom of God. He is the alpha and omega, the yes and amen, the Creator of heaven and earth. His name is Jehovah Nisi, you can’t hold him to ransom.
You can continue to show off against God but remember that the oxygen you are breathing comes from Him. What will happen if He takes away His oxygen?
What we do to God is like when you have given your car to somebody and they meet you on the road and pass you. God is looking at you, showing off, he can take away his breath and we will see where you will end.
The bible says the donkey asked Balaam “My master, what wrong have I done?” It was not fighting. The donkey was rebuking him. It was trying to say to him “You are a human being, can’t you see God?”
“Church of God wake up!”
Even when the donkey heard him “If I had a sword, I would kill you.” The donkey never argued with him. If you are a child of God you must not have time to argue. If you argue with the devil you will not win that argument, he has trained for years how to argue, how to lie and distort things.
Don’t argue with a fool because once you argue with a fool you will remain a fool, people will not notice the difference; even if you were not wrong, even if you were insulted. Insulting doesn’t take anything from you. If they insult you, keep quite. You are child of God, there is no argument. But you will hear people saying “Oh, you think you can do this to me because I am a Christian? I will take off this Christianity and show you a thing or two.”
You can’t take off Christianity. Did you ever hear Christ argue on the cross, saying “Leave me alone, you stupid fool. I will get you!” He didn't want to be a fool. He could have insulted them.
What He said was “God in heaven, they don’t know what they are doing.” Jesus Christ taught Christians to live a better life by keeping quite. That is why he says if they beat you on one side of the face, give them the other side.
The bible says if you are not listening to God and God is busy speaking to you, you must know that there is a demon hindering you from you hearing God. Another thing that makes people not to hear God is fellowshipping with the people who are not in God.
2 Cor 6:14 “14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” NKJV
Amos 3:3 “3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” NKJV.
If you are a Christian you must have Christian friends. What do you talk with friends who are not Christians? You walk with a friend who smokes dagga. When the police come and arrest him, they will ask “How do you walk with a thief?”
If you walk with a thief, you are a thief.
Prophet Amos is asking a simple question: how do you walk together if you are not agreed. The fear Paul is having is that it is either you win them or they will win you and in most cases it is the Christians who are being won back into the world.
The bible says if you have friends make sure that those friends know what you know. If you associate yourself with the child of a witch and you excel at school what do you think will happen? Your friend will go and tell his grandmother and say “Hey, grandma, that child when we write exams, she always takes number one.” The grandma will say “Don’t worry my child, steal his books, especially of the subjects he is excelling in and bring them here.”
Then at midnight the grandmother, when they fly with teaspoons, they will take it to their meeting and jump over it. She will then say to your friends, “Take the book back and make sure that he doesn’t see you putting it back in the desk. ” If
you can open the book and read it without praying for it, then your mind is gone and you will never pass that subject as long as that friend is still alive.
If you don’t have a witch grandmother run to church. Those who have witches as relatives run to the witches, you must run to God!
There was doctor at Medunsa using somebody’s brain. Then the one whose brain he was using went for deliverance. The following day at hospital they saw a circus, the doctor mixed panado with salt and sugar. Everybody was surprised! They checked the qualifications and found that they were perfect. They took him to a disciplinary hearing. Then they re-interviewed him and he got zero. They tested him in the things that he had excelled in before he came to Medunsa. He got zero. The owner of the brain had taken back his brain. You will sit here whilst somebody is working very well in Johannesburg, using your brain, coming back to the village in a fancy car.
You must hide your head in the church. Paul say don’t associate yourself with the wrong people. They will end up influencing you wrongly. Start looking for the right partner or else you will end up marrying the wrong rib.
You will go around marrying women and divorcing: you meet a beautiful girl, with a lovely figure and start to lust after her. The devil will tell you “That one, she is yours!” and you will go propose to her and make unrealistic promises “I will buy you an airplane”. You need to ask God who your wife is, go to the mountain, fast and pray asking God to show you who your remember-destined wife is.
You need to make sure that the yoke of witchcraft is removed from your life and the only place to do that is in the church of the living God through Jesus Christ. There is no way that a sangoma can remove that yoke from you, what if you go to the sangoma and your enemy is his client? Who do you expect the sangoma to choose?
If you want to get married, go to your parent, tell them “I have seen this person and this is my intention.” they will help you. They will advice you, “Hey, not this one! Those people are known to be serious witches.” The problem is that nowadays youth don’t respect the advice of their parents. That is why God allowed you to come from your family so that you can be properly guided. Instead the youth blackmail the parents and say “If you don’t allow me to marry this one I will hang myself.” If you do that with me, I will even buy the rope for you. The bible says cursed is the man who hangs on a tree. I will say advise you. “Hang yourself and you will go to hell in peace!”
Don’t be reckless with your life; you will die a nice death. They will put you in a coffin, looking up. Others will faint crying at your funeral. because you were reckless. The bible says don’t be overly wicked, don’t be foolish and die before
your time. You are a student, walking at 2am and then raped and killed. Is that of God? What is the student doing outside at that hour?
Then you find pastors saying she was a good person. Go and die a reckless death, at your own peril. The word of God is speaking to you tonight. Don’t be reckless.
The bible says every yoke is put you by somebody else; you don’t put it upon yourself. Every yoke is oppression; you can’t carry it by yourself. It will destroy you. The yoke that you carry is put upon you by somebody. That is why I said a lot of

your time. You are a student, walking at 2am and then raped and killed. Is that of God? What is the student doing outside at that hour?
Then you find pastors saying she was a good person. Go and die a reckless death, at your own peril. The word of God is speaking to you tonight. Don’t be reckless.
