Offering by Mr Mboneni Rathiyaya
Mr Mboneni Rathiyaya on offering!
There will come a time when God will test you to see how much you love Him. Are you prepared to give Him the last R100 in your pocket? Are you prepared to give Him your very own child, the only child? Abraham was prepared to give his only one son. The woman in the New Testament was prepared to give the last two coins.
When you give to God, how is your heart? Don’t waste your time by bringing in thousands of rands into the church whilst your heart is against it. God wants your heart. The bible says God is pleased with a cheerful giver who gives with his or her full heart, happily so. A person who will give knowing that he or she has not as yet paid the car or bond installment.
The widow was prepared to give Prophet Elijah her last meal.
That R20.00 that you have put aside for offering, did you put it aside because it is the law to give or because it is a gift to the house of God from your heart?
Where is your heart? God is concerned by people who give whilst their hearts are not in agreement with their giving. We must outgrow giving for the sake of following the laws of the church to giving back to God from our hearts.
Malachi 3:8-10 “8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, 'In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.” Mal 3:8-10, NKJV.

Psalm 51:16-17: “16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart — These, O God, You will not despise.” Ps 51:16-17.NKJV.
“Be the Ambassador of Christ” by Pastor Salani, Saturday Service, the 09th June 2012.
Pastor Salani "Be an Ambasador of Christ".
Our conference theme is “Be the ambassador of Christ.”
An ambassador is an authorized representative. You may sometimes call yourself an ambassador whilst you have not really been authorized.
Take for example, diplomatic officials who are representing a country; they don’t just do what they like but that which their country has authorized them to do.
Jesus Christ said to the disciples, “Follow me” and they followed him. When they were with him, He said “I will make you fishers of man” and then He said “Go and make disciples of all”.
People who are being mentored by a mentor need to grow from one level to the next.
Scripture reading: 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 “20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Cor 5:20-21, NKJV.
The bible tells us that we should make other people know Christ who is the saviour so that all these people and the world should become the righteousness of God. This means that as an ambassador of Christ you must become an effective ambassador of God.
How then do you become an effective ambassador of God?
FIRST and foremost you must study and know the word of God. When you get to know the word you will gain knowledge and understanding of what God likes and what He doesn’t.
Those who believe Christ have been given power to be the sons of Christ You have to have the knowledge of knowing who your Father is and what He likes and doesn’t like. Now that you understand God then you will know God. When you know God, you then know how to ask for wisdom, which will help you to discern when you come across any temptation.
Wisdom is Christ Himself. Jesus Christ is the word of God. This word of God was there in the beginning. It was through the word that everything was created. When you know the word nothing can withstand you.
You must understand, then gain knowledge, then with that knowledge through wisdom you must then be able to discern between wrong and right.
In the kingdom of God there is no satan, satan is just interfering, because he has come to steal, kill and destroy. When we don’t know the word of God we allow the devil to operate through his lies etc. When we are filled with the power and authority of God, the demons will move away from us. They cannot stand the fire of God in us. That fire is not in us through desire and observation but through the word of God. You must be so full of the word that even when you are angry it is still only the word of God that comes out of your heart and mouth.
The word of God is truth! We are saved by all the words that have been breathed from the mouth of God. It needs our commitment. We must believe in the word. We must become crazy about the word of God. We must inspire each other to do the will of God. Christ is able to do anything. There is nothing that can stand before Him.
I am not special but the one who is special is the Christ in us. When we move let us move carrying Jesus in us.
Who can come against us? We don’t defeat the devil by our own knowledge but by the word of God. Then when we go out we will be effective and will win souls for the kingdom of God. When we are saturated by the word of God we don’t talk too much or gossip too much.
TWO: The character of Christ is love. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. Christ came as an ambassador. He never sinned because He was rich of the word of God in Him. Even the High Priests were amazed at His knowledge of the word of God when he was only 12 years. Therefore as a child in church, age is not an issue, you can serve God at any age and at any place.
Agape love doesn’t hate, is not full of pride, it is just full of love. Without agape love you are nothing. Because of Christ in us, whom we know through the word we now give agape love to the world. We will also love the word of God and be good ambassadors. We will not rate people according to classes.
THREE: Faithfulness -
Faithfulness not because somebody is watching you but because you have the word of God in you. The bible says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Which knowledge is this? The lack of knowing God. If people know God they will live forever. Jesus Christ says I have come to save that which was lost so that it may not be lost but be recovered. After you get the knowledge of God, of Christ you must then be faithful in public and in private.
Temptations will come but because you are faithful you will be able to stand. The power of death and life are in the tongue. Instead of speaking negative things you will speak life.
When you are an ambassador in another country, you are not there to boast, you need to be (FOUR) gentle and to be respectful. You must be gentle. We have a problem with people who when they have been given power and authority tend to abuse that power and authority. I must remember that I represent Christ who will one day judge me. He will ask me “You did not abide by the truth that I as Christ I stand for.”
FIVE: Wisdom – Discernment -
Discernment is very important. Sometimes as Christians we tend to import worldly things into the church. When we do things let us do it under the direction and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Let’s not do things to please people. Our God never changes; God is a God of order, a God of truth.
Psalm 50:16 “16 But to the wicked God says: "What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth,” Ps 50:15-16, NKJV.
Let’s be obedient to our spiritual parents.
Col 2:9-10 “9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” Col 2:9-10, NKJV.
If you receive Christ you have everything. Because we have the word which is Christ what more do you want?
The work of an ambassador:
Acts 18:9-10 “ Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city." Acts 18:9-10, NKJV. (own emphasis).
This is the work of an ambassador.
This is not to say they will not attack you but that these attacks will not harm or hurt you. We need to persevere. When God appeared to Paul in a vision God said to him “Do not be afraid.” Most of the authorized ambassadors don’t do this. When you are an authorized ambassador God will keep encouraging you. God will say “From now on, don’t be afraid but go on, don’t keep silent, and don’t be scared.” Stand up for the kingdom of God. Just know that it is God who is supporting you, encouraging you. That is why Jesus said “I will not leave you alone but will leave you with a Helper, the Holy Spirit.”
When you need the Holy Spirit to come upon you, you will seek knowledge and you will sanctify yourself,
When the Holy Spirit came upon Peter, he was able to stand up boldly and to speak that day and 3000 people received Christ. We need to stand for the kingdom of God. Jesus is coming. Let’s stop wasting time. If you knew exactly when you were going to die you would be much more serious and not relax anymore in the service of God.
Wherever you are, don’t keep silent, do the work of the Lord, be it in the queue for old pension, bank, hospital etc We are living in the last days.
When God has equipped us and we don’t use the knowledge to equip others then He will hold us responsible. Therefore go out and be an effective ambassador of God.
John 15:21 “22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.” John 15:22, NKJV.
Do not be silent; do not be afraid you must speak. God says His people are here. It is you who must go out and testify about this God that you know!
Why are you seated? We talk too much about things that don’t bring any soul into the kingdom of God. Go out and speak Jesus and give Jesus to the people. Those who want to remain talking about church politics let them remain behind.
The harvest is ripe but the workers are few. Now get yourself to be an ambassador and go out and do the will of God and not the will of man. Our God is the God of truth, the God of order. Our God wants us to respect our elders and our seniors. Our good deeds will be like sweet aroma that will go through our church windows into the streets. When the nose smells good sweet aroma, it responds. This will then bring souls into the kingdom.
When the next person is full of the Holy Spirit, you will feel the spirit in the person and you will connect. Just like Mary and Elizabeth, who were both full of the Holy Spirit, were able to connect. Lies and pride don’t go together with the Holy Spirit, they don’t connect, they don’t mix.
Proverbs 30:8-9 “8 Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches — Feed me with the food allotted to me; 9 Lest I be full and deny You, And say, "Who is the Lord?" Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God.” Prov 30:8-9, NKJV.
Satan who was full of pride is the father of lies.
