“Your Sin will Catch You”-Part 2, by Rev Samuel Mametsa, Sunday the 29th of January 2012.
Your sin will catch you, it may not be today or tomorrow but your sin will catch you.
“16 Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin.” Deut 24:16, NKJV.
The bible says the wages of sin is death. This order is coming from God Himself, He is the one who put this order. Many of us would be dead if it was not for His grace.
This is your God said to the Trinity (God the trinity) one of us must go and die for sin; because of the principle that the wages of sin is death and as a result God could not contradict Himself otherwise we should all be dead for our sins. There was nothing forcing God to send somebody to die for us, He could have just said “You are all forgiven”. If He had done this He would have contradicted His own principle “The wages of sin is death” and that is why He could not spare Jesus Christ from the death.
“23 But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out.” Num 32:23, NKJV.
God cannot send another Jesus.
1 John 3:6-10 says if you remain sinning then your Father is the devil even if you act, talk and walk like a Christian. The bible says keep away from sin. Sin is not something that you can see. Sin can manifest and most of the time you will see that it is a sin when it is hitting you. If you continue in it, not recognizing it as sin, it will grow and keep on growing until it explodes.
Last week we spoke about David and when the prophet of God spoke to David, he did not deny his sin, he even asked for forgiveness but what is surprising is that despite that he was forgiven God still continued to mete out punishment against him and he asked David to choose the punishment he wants. If you sin, even if you ask for forgiveness the punishment will come. So, even if you are forgiven, the punishment will come because your sin will catch you. This is so we will stay away from evil. God will make sure that your sin will catch you. David chose the punishment from God as long as it was not of a human being. The bible says the punishment from God has grace and that a person has no grace upon you.
Most people get in trouble because they tell themselves that this sin is little. There is no such thing as a little sin as every sin will grow into a big stronghold. Just like you were a child once and have grown up into an adult. That little sin will grow and keep on growing and will find you and expose you.
The problem is that God has given us free will and this normally results in us being ignorant of certain sins. Sin can blind people to the extent that sin becomes normal them.
If you are a Christian living in sin and punishment of death is not coming to you it is because of the grace of God upon your life. It is not because your sin is not going to find you.
As a Christian we have been given a chance to repent so that our lives can be spared. If you continue, then your sin will catch you and it may kill you. God will not spare you just as He did not spare Jesus Christ. By doing this we are crucifying Jesus Christ all over again and again. We are saying that His death was in vain.
1 Kings 21:11-25
“11 So the men of his city, the elders and nobles who were inhabitants of his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them. 12 They proclaimed a fast, and seated Naboth with high honor among the people. 13 And two men, scoundrels, came in and sat before him; and the scoundrels witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, "Naboth has blasphemed God and the king!" Then they took him outside the city and stoned him with stones, so that he died. 14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, "Naboth has been stoned and is dead." 15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, "Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead." 16 So it was, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab got up and went down to take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. The Lord Condemns Ahab 17 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 18 "Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who lives in Samaria. There he is, in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it. 19 You shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the Lord: "Have you murdered and also taken possession?"' And you shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the Lord:"In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs shall lick your blood, even yours."'" 20 So Ahab said to Elijah,"Have you found me, O my enemy?" And he answered, "I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord: 21 'Behold, I will bring calamity on you. I will take away your posterity, and will cut off from Ahab every male in Israel, both bond and free. 22 I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, because of the provocation with which you have provoked Me to anger, and made Israel sin.' 23 And concerning Jezebel the Lord also spoke, saying, 'The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.' 24 The dogs shall eat whoever belongs to Ahab and dies in the city, and the birds of the air shall eat whoever dies in the field." 25 But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.” 1 Kings 21:11-25, NKJV.
1 Kings 22: 29-34
“22 The Lord said to him, 'In what way?' So he said, 'I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And the Lord said,'You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.' 23 Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster gainst you." 24 Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said,"Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?" 25 And Micaiah said, "Indeed, you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!" 26 So the king of Israel said, "Take Micaiah, and return him to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king's son; 27 and say, 'Thus says the king: "Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I come in peace."'" 28 But Micaiah said, "If you ever return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me." And he said, "Take heed, all you people!" Ahab Dies in Battle (2 Chron 18:28-34) 29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.” 1 Kings 22:22-29, NKJV.
1 Kings 22: 29-34
“30 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "I will disguise myself and go into battle; but you put on your robes." So the king of Israel disguised himself and went into battle. 31 Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, "Fight with no one small or great, but only with the king of Israel." 32 So it was, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, "Surely it is the king of Israel!" Therefore they turned aside to fight against him, and Jehoshaphat cried out. 33 And it happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him. 34 Now a certain man drew a bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor. So he said to the driver of his chariot, "Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am wounded." 1 Kings 22:30-34, NKJV.
These scripture s tell us about people who were sinning before God. King Ahab was the king of Israel, a nation favored by God. His mistake was marrying Jezebel, the mother of witches. The nation cried but realised that King Ahab was not prepared to change. Jezebel was the mother of witches. People think because witchcraft is hidden it is not a problem but the bible says every sin shall be exposed and one day your sin will catch you and when it does it will punished u. You are not being punished; your sin is punishing you.
The sin of witchcraft is very secretive and these witches are too ashamed or too proud to come out and repent but one day your sin will catch you and you may even be seen naked in the public. The bible says every sin, done in the light or in the dark, it will be exposed. If your sin is not exposed, the punishment is death.
Jezebel is the mother of witches and wizards. Witchcraft was originally meant for women. Women were breastfed by Jezebel and then inherited the witchcraft but if the man was breastfed by Jezebel then the man will listen to Jezebel. Today we have wizards because the men married witches and the witch (the woman) breastfed that man and turned them into a wizard. The woman will control u. Jezebel is more powerful than wizards. The bible says a student can surpass the teacher, the same goes for witchcraft. So, as the original witch was a woman then the men cannot be better witches than the women. A witch is happy when you are suffering and no matter how much you suffer the witch will not feel sorry for you. If you are a witch and you come and hide in church one day your sin will catch you.
After King Ahab was breastfed by Jezebel the witch, he saw the one vineyard of Naboth and wanted it even if he has so many vineyards. He went home and cried to Jezebel. Jezebel told him “you the king of Israel, you can’t cry, Naboth will give you the vineyard.” The witches are so confident that some of them will tell you “I will find you.” Even so they can’t be proud forever.
Jezebel started plotting against Naboth until Naboth was killed. Killing is a sin. After Jezebel killed Naboth, she went home and said nothing to the king. When the message had arrived to King Ahab she then says to King Ahab “Stand up, eat the vineyard is yours.” King Ahab was very happy. I
Witchcraft is two-fold: the witch in the heart and those who cast spells etc against the people. After King Ahab took the vineyard, it was named the vineyard of blood. The prophet of God came and said to King Ahab “My God has sent me; He no longer recognises your kingship. The bible puts it thus 'Thus says the Lord: “"Have you murdered and also taken possession?"' And you shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the Lord:"In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs shall lick your blood, even yours."” 1 Kings 21:19, NKJV.
This is because the punishment of sin is death. Elijah told King Ahab you will die by the sword because you gave permission to Jezebel to kill Naboth. Eventually King Ahab was killed in battle. Do you know that witches and wizards are cowards? They don’t want to die but they want to kill others. That it is how their hearts are.
Now King Ahab started to disguise himself so he doesn’t look like a king, he knew things soldiers of the other side will look for him.
After King Ahab was stabbed he asked Jehoshaphat to help him but because it was the war of God Jehoshaphat was helpless. The arrow was meant to strike Jehoshaphat because he was wearing the uniform of the king but the arrow was turned because the arrow was given authority and order from heaven to kill the King and not a soldier. King Ahab started to cry for help and as nobody saw a king but a soldier they passed him and went to look for senior soldiers who may have been hurt or needing help.
For those witches who are hiding in church or those who blaspheme the name of the Lord, the arrow of God will find and strike you. The reason why witches come and disguise themselves in church is because witches think that people don’t know that they are witches. Is it because the men and women of God are keeping quiet and not saying anything? They are keeping quiet so that they can pray for you to repent. If you do not repent, the arrow of God will find you.
Remember that those people are also praying to God day and night and their tears will not fall down. One day God will answer. Let us stop tormenting each other in the name of the church, this is punishable.
There are some people who say they won’t come to church as long as you, a witch, are still in church. So, can’t you see that you are blocking the salvation of other people? The community members know what you have done in the community. If you hear these words and you don’t repent, punishment will follow soon. I say this out of love.
“10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.” Deut 18:10-12, NKJV.
